In 2020, we established a set of clear, actionable sustainability goals to evolve our business and maximize our positive impact. These goals center around three key areas: optimizing operational excellence; fostering thriving communities; and collaborating and innovating across our value chain.

Managing Our Waste
GEON is dedicated to minimizing waste in our operations and exploring new opportunities for recycling waste materials. In 2024, we diverted 77 percent of our total waste to recycling. The amount of waste that did go to landfills was 47 percent less than in 2023, surpassing our Vision 2025 goal.
To meet our waste reduction goal, we took the following actions to reduce waste generation and increase recycling rates:
- Reduced scrap generation by ensuring product streams were contaminant free
- Qualified multiple recycling sources to prevent gaps
- Designed products that incorporate post- consumer recycled or post-industrial
recycled materials
Building Thriving Communities
With GEON employees in the lead, our THRIVE teams play a critical role in paying it forward, building partnerships, and making meaningful impact, both on GEON’s campuses and in the areas where we operate. At each location, these teams — composed of a diverse group of employee volunteers — lead initiatives aimed at strengthening employee and community engagement. By organizing team-building events and volunteer activities, THRIVE participants not only enhance their leadership skills but also contribute to the positive development of GEON’s culture.
Each THRIVE team operates independently to identify and coordinate volunteer programs, allowing campuses to address the unique needs of their local communities. These grassroots-led efforts focus on four key areas: hunger, individuals in need, environmental sustainability and education.
For example, in 2024, the GEON Dyersburg THRIVE team helped to collect essential items after hurricanes Helene and Milton pummeled parts of east Tennessee:
- Baby supplies
- Two pallets of water
- Essential agricultural equipment
- More than seven tons of animal feed
- Four trailer loads of equipment for cleanup efforts (hand tools, chain saws, barbed wire, post hole diggers, gloves, sump pumps, chain saws, generators, gas cans and more)
