+Vantage Vinyl is open to U.S. vinyl value chain companies that are: resin suppliers, raw material/additive suppliers, material compounders, end-product manufacturers, equipment manufacturers,recyclers, and distributors as defined in the VSC Operating Guidelines.

Any business with U.S. operations that meets the participation requirements is encouraged to participate, whether the company or parent company is domestic (U.S.) or foreign (other than U.S.ownership).

Participation in +Vantage Vinyl is voluntary. U.S. vinyl value chain members can maintain Vinyl Sustainability Council membership with or without participation in the +Vantage Vinyl initiative.

By working to support sustainable development, the vinyl industry will be even better positioned to address the needs of people in North America and around the globe. While recognizing past and current successes, the industry seeks to be more sustainable by leveraging common industry approaches and implementing a culture of continuous improvement and sustainability-based innovation, supported by internal and external communications that promote transparency and stakeholder engagement.

+Vantage Vinyl participants will be recognized periodically as industry sustainability leaders in the anticipated Vinyl Industry Sustainability Report published by the Vinyl Sustainability Council starting in 2019. Participants will also be eligible for the sustainability leadership awards.

In addition, being sustainable can be a smart approach to remaining competitive and future-proofing your company and our industry. Actively working to increase sustainability can lead to improved customer relations, employee morale, company reputation and, by working collectively, an improved business environment.

+Vantage Vinyl participants can inform their business partners about their efforts by using the “+Vantage Vinyl For a Sustainable Future” Name and Trade Mark or by sharing the VSC public communications and reports.

The Vinyl Sustainability Council publishes a periodical Vinyl Industry Sustainability Report. The report include a summary of the +Vantage Vinyl initiative along with a status report on the progress made for the activities established in each Priority Area.

From a business perspective, stagnation is the cost of falling behind competitors and emerging competitive materials. Sustainability enables industry to present the best case of its value to other businesses, customers, government, and the public in terms they can appreciate and respect. Over time, +Vantage Vinyl is expected to support market growth and demonstrate the vinyl industry’s commitment to ensuring a judicious use of environmental resources and the safety of our workers, customers, and consumers.
