Call for Feedback on Updates to the +Vantage Vinyl® Guiding Principles

The +Vantage Vinyl program’s Guiding Principles set the direction and parameters for what companies strive to achieve over time and are a core element of the +Vantage Vinyl standard. The Guiding Principles are organized within five pillars that serve as the guideposts for companies on their journey of continuous improvement. The five pillars represent: environmental stewardship, social diligence, economic soundness, collaboration, open communication.

This past year, 26 companies underwent 2022 verification to the Guiding Principles. +Vantage Vinyl has a commitment to continuous improvement, and never assumes that today’s performance is the best achievable. As such, the Vinyl Sustainability Council uses consensus to revise the Guiding Principles and make program updates.

+Vantage Vinyl consensus principles process:

– Form verification committee from Vinyl Sustainability Council (VSC) membership

– Verification committee conducts annual guiding principle review for recommended changes and updates

– Proposed changes reviewed by VSC membership and approved by VSC Leadership Team

– 30-day open public review period

– Verification committee considers and responds to public input; puts forward the final Guiding Principles to VSC Leadership Team

– Final standard approved by VSC Leadership Team

– Final updated +Vantage Vinyl Guiding Principles published

The call for feedback and comments on the Guiding Principle revisions outlined below will be open for 30 days—until February 18, 2024. Please reach out to Jennifer Armstrong (jarmstrong@vinylinfo.org), Director of Sustainability, to submit feedback.
