Construction & Demolition Recycling Association Joins Vinyl Sustainability Council

WASHINGTON, November 30, 2020 – The Vinyl Sustainability Council (VSC), a self-funded business council advancing sustainability in the vinyl industry, is pleased to welcome the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) to its membership.

“We’re pleased to grow our trade association membership and have the CDRA join the Vinyl Sustainability Council,” said Jay Thomas, VSC Executive Director. “Advancing an entire industry’s sustainability requires concerted effort from not just companies, but also the membership organizations that serve on the behalf of the companies they represent. I look forward to working together.”

CDRA, headquartered in Chicago, promotes and defends the environmentally sound recycling of more than 483 million tons of recoverable construction and demolition materials that are generated in the United States annually. It is the only trade association exclusively promoting the recycling of construction and demolition materials. Founded in 1994, its members are found through virtually every population center in the United States where they recycle concrete, asphalt, wood, metals, gypsum, shingles, PVC and more.

“We’re excited to join the VSC and connect with other recyclers,” said William Turley, CDRA Executive Director. “As an organization, we are focused on advocacy, networking, research, and education in the recycling space. Through our membership in the VSC, we’re excited to collaborate with others to further these priorities and recycling in the industry.

The VSC is open for membership to any organization within the U.S. vinyl value chain from resin manufacturer to product retailer and industry trade associations. Members work together to develop and implement best practices and innovation leading to continuous improvement throughout the industry, while promoting these achievements to key stakeholders.
