scoreWISE Sustainability Tool

Incorporating sustainability thinking early in the product development process is an important step in advancing product sustainability. Having a tool to help facilitate this improves the likelihood of this occurring. The Vinyl Sustainability Council developed scoreWISE to help companies in the vinyl industry assess and compare product formulations and evaluate design tradeoffs in the product development and improvement processes.

scoreWISE is an assessment tool designed to measure and communicate the sustainable attributes of products. It is applicable anywhere in the vinyl supply chain from raw material manufacturing to finished product production. It can be used in myriad ways – comparing the sustainability profile of a product when using bio-based materials vs. non-bio-based materials in product creation, evaluating the production footprint of the same product across multiple facilities, or comparing the sustainability profile of a product over multiple generations.

These are just a few examples of how scoreWISE can facilitate the evaluation of product sustainability.
