ADvancing the Circular Economy: Shaping the Future

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We have invested in equipment advances to reduce manufacturing waste—and recover, recycle and reuse most of the solvents in the adhesive coatings process of critical product lines. A new program, AD Circular, connects our customers, particularly in our Labels & Packaging business, with nearby recycling providers who can evaluate their entire waste stream and develop a custom and cost-effective approach for all of the customer’s recycling needs. Reducing Our Environmental Impact: Operations and Supply Chain

We are working towards specific goals for reduction, sourcing and diversion.

Reduce our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 70% from our 2015 baseline. Currently, we have achieved a 63% reduction. We are working with our supply chain to reduce our 2018 baseline Scope 3 GHG emissions by 30%, with an ambition of net zero by 2050.

Source 100% of paper fiber from certified sources focused on a deforestation-free future; we have currently achieved 96%. Have 70% of the films and chemicals we buy conform to, or enable end products to conform to, our environmental and social guiding principles. To date, we surpassed the 70% goals, achieving 97% for films and 96% for chemicals.

Divert 95% of our waste away from landfills, with a minimum of 80% of our waste recycled and the remainder either reused, composted or sent to energy recovery. We have achieved 89% diversion away from landfills and 65% recycling to date.
