Vinyl Sustainability Council Hosts Virtual Vinyl Recycling Summit in June
WASHINGTON, DC – The Vinyl Sustainability Council is hosting a virtual Vinyl Recycling Summit on Thursday, June 18, from 10 am to 4 pm EDT. The Summit will be hosted via webcast and will feature leading industry experts who will share their knowledge and experiences with vinyl recycling technology, logistics and marketing. This is an opportunity for the industry to come together to discuss the opportunities, needs and challenges in vinyl recovery and waste management.
“Resource efficiency through recycling and waste management is a top priority for our industry,” said Jay Thomas, VSC Executive Director. “Each year, the vinyl industry recycles more than 1 billion pounds of material, but we know there are opportunities to increase this. This event will bring industry leaders together to discuss how we can drive recycling forward.”
The Summit focuses on three primary topics: understanding value for recycled vinyl materials; the technical aspects of vinyl recycling; and the future of vinyl recycling. Sessions include industry experts who will talk about the state of vinyl recycling in the U.S., provide an inside look at market-specific recycling initiatives, and case studies in various efforts in advanced recycling. In addition, several vinyl product manufacturers will share their own recycling success stories. The preliminary agenda can be found here.
The event is tailored for suppliers, formulators, product manufacturers, and recyclers and others who are interested in learning about the opportunities, needs, and challenges in vinyl recovery and recycling. VSC members, V-Cycle Task Force members, and current students and academia can register at no cost, and all others can register for $150. To register, click here.
“We want to start a movement in vinyl recycling,” Thomas said. “But the movement can’t begin with the work of just one individual or one company. Working together, members of the vinyl value chain can make a meaningful impact on global recycling goals.”
