What role do companies have in sustainability? How has Vinyl Sustainability Council membership helped shape your company’s sustainability initiatives?
Companies have a critical role to play in advancing sustainability by designing products, operations, and business practices that are responsible and forward-thinking. At Teknor Apex, sustainability has long been part of our strategic focus, influencing how we innovate, manufacture, and collaborate with our partners. Our membership in the Vinyl Sustainability Council (VSC) has been a valuable part of that journey, providing a structured framework and new opportunities for continuous improvement. Through VSC initiatives like +Vantage Vinyl, we’ve been able to benchmark our progress, set clearer goals, and engage more deeply with industry-wide efforts — all complementing the broader sustainability initiatives within Teknor Apex.

Is sustainability an important consideration for your customers?
Yes, sustainability is increasingly important to our customers across all markets. Whether it’s meeting regulatory requirements, supporting circular economy initiatives, or fulfilling their own corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments, our customers expect partners who share their values and can provide sustainable material solutions. Many are specifically seeking products with lower environmental impact without compromising performance or compliance.

What do you wish your customers knew about your company’s sustainability initiatives?
At Teknor Apex, we recognize that sustainability means different things to different people — whether it’s reducing carbon footprint, improving recyclability, minimizing resource use, or creating longer-lasting products. One of the strengths of Teknor Apex is the close partnerships we build with our customers across diverse industries. Because we have a deep understanding of many markets and applications, we are uniquely positioned to innovate sustainable solutions tailored to specific needs, in addition to offering a range of off-the-shelf sustainable products. Sustainability is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and we are committed to collaborating with our customers to help them achieve their specific environmental and performance goals.

What role does +Vantage Vinyl verification play in your company’s sustainability commitments now and in the future?
+Vantage Vinyl verification provides an industry standard for ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in our sustainability journey. The program’s multi-attribute verification helps us benchmark our practices, identify areas for further improvement, and demonstrate our commitments to customers and stakeholders in a credible way. As we move forward, +Vantage Vinyl will continue to guide our efforts to innovate responsibly, minimize environmental impact, and contribute meaningfully to the broader goals of the vinyl industry.
