Taking Ownership of Sustainability
At HMTX, sustainability serves as a key pillar for operations and is reflected in the company’s organizational chart. HMTX maintains a chief sustainability and impact officer, who oversees the company’s product authority team. This task force serves as an information clearinghouse and directs how sustainability impacts the global enterprise. The team is involved in various aspects of the product channel: supply chain sustainability, product and social transparency, testing and compliance, innovation, and performance.

Eliminating Emissions
Teknoflor, an institutional and healthcare-focused brand of HMTX, offers carbon-neutral products to help combat climate change. These carbon-neutral products include Naturescapes HPD and Nature’s Tile & Plank HPD. Teknoflor has achieved carbon-neutral status for these products, in part, through its participation in the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) program by way of Everland. Teknoflor has also gathered embodied carbon data on its other product lines and plans to expand its offering of carbon neutral products.
